I was actually told one time by a postal worker not to write *Fragile* on the package. Reason: they will purposely drop it and throw around. I was shocked!!
I suspect that if you don't mark it "fragile" and there is damage, they'll say they aren't responsible, since they weren't warned the box contained fragile materials. In other words, you can't win.
