March Madness

Not the basketball variety . . . the jazz variety. There are five jazz festivals, one ragtime festival, and one concert -- and don't we wish we could get to all of them!!!

March 5-7: Dixieland Monterey - Jazz Bash By The Bay, Monterey, CA
March 11-14: Tribute to Bix Beiderbecke, Racine, WI
March 12-14: Clambake Jazz Festival, Coos Bay/North Bend, OR
March 19-21: Palm Springs Classic Jazz Festival, Cathedral City, CA
March 21: Norris Center for Performing Arts concert, Titan Hot Seven, Palos Verdes, CA
March 25-28: Redwood Coast Jazz Festival, Eureka, CA
March 26-27: Charles Templeton Ragtime Music Festival, Mississippi State, MS

Look for us at the Monterey festival. We'll also be blogging from there!

On The Home Front

The Quilt Monster was very, very busy last week and there are six quilts ready to be delivered. One will be picked up here and the other five delivered to Cozy Quiltin' for pick-up tomorrow. That's all for now, so until more come in I can get back to medical transcription for a couple of days. I've had to extend the course again, so now I have until July 22 (or the next extension) to finish.

In the knitting department, now that the Aestlight shawl is finished, I've returned to the girlie socks. They're WendyKnits' "Traditional Gansey" pattern, hopefully in Jessica's size, although they look a little small.

I've also started some purse/car knitting -- a pair of socks that are straight stockinette using self-striping yarn. I've been anxious to use Austermann Step yarn, the one that's infused with jojoba and aloe. So far my hands aren't any less dry, but then I only have the toes done.

Finally, today is the first day of the Brandywine Shawl KAL (knit-along) and I'll be starting that tonight. I'm hoping it will also be good car knitting for the trip to Monterey later this week.
