Here We Go Again

It happens every month . . . the dreaded DEADLINE.  The deadline for submissions is the 5th of the month preceeding publication. The deadline for getting it all put together and to the printer is . . . Monday morning. Therefore, we will be working all weekend -- again.

I'm guessing the March issue will be printed Tuesday, the 23rd, and will be mailed around the end of the week. So, if you're a subscriber, start watching your mailbox around the first of March. If you're not a subscriber . . . why not???

On The Home Front

You know what they say, "Another day, another quilt." Or something like that. The little pink/brown/blue quilt came off the Quilt Monster late yesterday, and another one has taken its place. This one is from the same customer (I have 5 to do for her), and has African-themed fabrics. I have a 'jungle' quilting pattern, and can't wait to see if it will fit. If not, I'll have to do something generic. I'm pretty sure I'll be using black thread on this one.

In other news, today's shipment from The Loopy Ewe was pretty exciting.  They just got "The Knit Kit" in the other day, so I was lucky to snag one. It "includes eight essential knitting tools," a stitch counter, double-ended crochet hook, tape measure, thread cutter, collapsible scissors (TSA compliant), stitch markers, point protectors, and darning needle -- all in one handy-dandy little case. I thought it would be good for traveling. I'm the navigator on road trips, so once we're pointed in the right direction, I return to knitting.

Here's a close-up of the yarn. It's Zauberball, and I think the color is called Ombre. Or maybe it's Farbe: Stone Washed. Hard to tell since I can't read German. I like this notation: 100gr fur 1 Paar Socken, which is, of course, why I bought it -- fur 1 paar socken.

  1. That quilting machine is impressive!

I have one of the Knit Kits--comes in handy. My only complaint is that the markers split after just one project. Oh well, didn't expect them to last forever, but I think I'll put some different ones in the little compartment. I do love this little gadget. That Zauberball yarn is gorgeous! Can't wait to see what you create.

  2. The machine is a wonderful thing. I'll probably use the red Zauberball before the blue, but both will be socks.
