Jazz~N~Aweigh to Florida and Beyond

Readers of The American Rag know that Jazz~N~Aweigh is a terrific cruise/tour agency headed by Diane Cottingham. This month Diane has scheduled a 3-day pre-cruise tour of Ft. Lauderdale and Miami that leads into a 10-day JazzSea Caribbean cruise. On board the Celebrity Cruises ship Equinox there will be 6 bands, including the JazzSea Jammers.

Diane's tour includes 3 nights in Hollywood, FL with breakfast each morning, a welcome dinner party, a day tour of Miami that includes South Beach, the Art Deco District, Coral Gables, and Little Havana. There will be a visit to an Alligator Farm, an Airboat ride, and a casino stop. Contact Diane at 206-542-9332, 800-348-5800, or to get the full scoop on the tour and cruise. We have travelled with Jazz~N~Aweigh and with JazzSea, and can vouch for a wonderful time with both of them!

On The Home Front

Ishbel is finished! According to the directions, it should be 48.5" across the top. Did I do a swatch first? Nooooo. Per the instructions, I purchased 4 ply fingering weight yarn (Malabrigo) and the correct needles, and happily started knitting. The result? It measures 36" across the top. The good news is that I intended it to be used as a scarf, and it will be large enough for that. Here it is, blocking on the floor.

Now, back to the socks, and then possibly another Ishbel, or maybe a WendyKnits pattern, this time for me!

Tomorrow it's back to the books . . . actually, the sound files. Transcription study starts again after too much time off; first to recover from shingles, then the holidays and some marathon knitting. Toto's just happy soaking up the afternoon sun.
